Ventura has a view of the sea that has to be seen to be believed. Citizens of Ventura have very little reason to feel sorry for themselves, but our city’s proximity to the ocean does come with a small price: moisture and mold.
The warm, humid air that rolls in off the ocean and over Ventura and Oxnard carries a ton of moisture. If your home or business hasn’t been sufficiently waterproofed and sealed, moisture can penetrate into the walls and ceilings. Given our warm weather, it’s obvious that this can quickly create the perfect paradise for mold growth, on top of water damage that can require serious demolition and reconstruction if not dealt with rapidly.
IR Environmental is Ventura’s leading source of mold inspection and remediation services. Give us a call, and we’ll be happy to walk you through how we can diagnose and deal with the issue. Our staff are all highly trained, and we utilize the assistance of some of the best third-party laboratories in the country in order to identify the exact nature of the mold, fungus, or dry rot affecting your home or business.
How can you tell if you have a mold problem?
Here are some of the easiest ways to tell if you might have a mold problem in your home or office:
1. If you notice warm, earthy smells, try running your heating or cooling system to dry out the air. If the smells don’t go away, then you may have a water leak or pocket of moisture in your home that is harboring a mold colony.
2. If you start suffering from uncharacteristic allergy symptoms, or you feel like you have a cold that drags on for months, but which diminishes when you leave for a while, then mold may be responsible. If this is the case, it’s important to contact a specialist immediately, as symptoms can become much worse if a toxic strain of mold is to blame.
3. If you often see condensation on the insides of windows throughout your home, this is a sign that the humidity in your home is very high. Consistently high humidity will inevitably spawn mold growth, potentially at multiple points throughout your home, necessitating expensive and time-consuming repairs.
